Ten years in Houston Banking as a lending and business development officer prepared Richard Gould for his career in real estate which began in 1973 when he joined the Benton Company. From 1976 to 1990 he served as President of the Benton Gould Company and concurrently as President of Carriage Realty, and Plaza Development Co., residential and land development subsidiaries of the Benton Gould Company. Dick was named "Broker of the Year" by Sugarland Properties for his brokerage efforts in the sale of the largest single tract in First Colony. Dick's brokerage activities are equally allocated to an extensive listing portfolio and user/investor acquisitions.
Dick has been instrumental in the formulation of joint ventures for the construction of office buildings, office warehouses, warehouse and retail properties. He has also been involved in the brokerage of these asset types including the sale of a $35,000,000.00 shopping center.
In 2003 Dick continued his historical closing rate of 35-40 transactions per year with gross commissions generated therefrom exceeding his previous three (3) year average by thirty-five (35%) percent.
Dick says, "Long term relationships are built on appropriate responses to the full range of a customer‘s needs. Nothing helps to weather the changes in markets more than the loyalty of good customers."
