William A. McDade received his Texas Real Estate Brokers License in 1959. He founded the firm McDade, Smith, Gould, Johnston, Mason + Company originally with Sid Smith and Dick Gould in 1991. Mr. McDade was the recipient of the 1998 Houston Board of Realtors Commercial Professional of the Year Award. He is also a three time recipient of the Houston Business Journal's Heavy Hitter - Most Valuable Player award, which is one that is chosen by his peers.
Since 1968, Bill has brokered or co-brokered transactions in excess of $1 billion. His multi-million dollar transactions include dealings with Citigroup/Travelers, Sysco, Centerpoint/Reliant Energy, Johnson Development, Vantage, Lincoln Properties, Mac Haik, Ned Holmes, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, Cypress Realty, Duke Energy, Landry's, H & C Communications, Inc., C. Itoh, Sysco, Shell Oil Company, The Woodlands Corporation, Champion Forest Associates, and Trammell Crow Co. In addition, he has marketed exclusive listings for all major bank holding companies and worked closely with various school districts such as HISD and Alief ISD as well as HCC in both sales and acquisitions.
During the late 1980s association with Houston Commercial Brokerage, Bill continued his banking representations while increasing sales and acquisitions with a number of local school districts, including Houston, Alief and Aldine as well as Houston Community College. Other clients have been Lexus and Infiniti automobile dealerships, various apartment sites for Davis Development of Georgia, Beeler Properties, Fairfield Residential Companies, United Dominion Trust, the Finger Companies, as well as selling to other users and investors such as WalMart, Target, Kroger, HEB, Walgreens, CVS and Sam's. Although known primarily as a land broker, Bill has brokered in excess of $100 million in office and industrial properties. Bill has had former associations with The Horne Company and Cushman & Wakefield.
Bill shares his many years of priceless land knowledge and experience with his team at McDade, Smith, Gould, Johnston, Mason + Co. He personally mentors two Junior Brokers and has inspired most of this company's Senior Brokers to follow his lead in taking on new young brokers in the same way. Bill has been the driving force behind this successful program with the intention of giving them a head start with the knowledge, background and experience of partnering up with strong brokers who are leaders in both the industry and the community and giving them the opportunity to learn from the best and follow their example.
